We the old students of Naduvannur higher secondary school Vakayad are very glad to welcome you all, and you all would be rather very enthusiastic to know, how this institution in this rural area came in to existence and now grown up to an higher secondary school, which has been opened since 1998-1999 and we celebrated the golden jubilee in the academic year 2000-2001.
We were Malabarees, belonging to the erstwhile madras state and there were no schools for secondary education in this area with in a radius of 15 miles. further it was the post war period of financial stringency through out to this state and people were in great trouble. but the prominent gentlemen of this area like Late. Sri. Chettiyoor Kunhiraman Nair and Brahmasre. A.P. Kesavan Namboodiri, who were the real founders of this institution took up the initiative and due to the laborious tasks and continued efforts with the help of Late. Messieurs: P. Kunhiraman Kidave , N. Ganapathi Moosad , M.K. Govindan Kutty Nair , Puthusseri Kovunni Nair , Kandoth Krishnan Nair , Vengarambath Krishnan Nair , Edoth Kunhi Krishnan Nair , Edavana Govindan Nair , T. Chathu Vydiar , C.K. Chathukutty Nair , M. Kunhipakki Haji , E. Gopalan Nair , V.P. Govindan Namboodiri and C. Kunhiraman Vydiar and other persons of this locality had also contributed as they could. the proposed educational institution became a full fledged high school in the year 1950 with lower classes from one to third form and the SSLC first batch appeared for the examination in the year 1954 with good results. soon after a committee of all the contributors was established and registered the school committee under societies Act.
The institution is situated in Calicut District, Kottur Grama Panchayath located at Vakayad, the eastern boundary of Naduvannur Grama Panchayath with a distance of 2km from Naduvannur town. The site of esteemed institution, in the valley of Vallora hill having nine acres of land and both Naduvannur and Kottur Panchayaths are enjoying the benefits of higher education.
